Fall Dress, Meet Spring

My Threads: Dress: Francesca's, Wedges: Dolce Vita via Marshall's, Bag: Calvin Klein, Belt: Forever 21, Necklace: Forever 21, Bracelet: J.Crew Factory, Watch: Michael Kors

Yes, I'm wearing maroon in May. This dress is probably better for fall. But i've kind of stopped trying to make my clothes fit into specific season. Probably because we don't really have seasons.

Anyway, did you watch the series finale of The Office last night?! If you didn't, you should. It was amazing. And sad. But in a happy kind of way, if that makes sense.

Also, I'm crazy excited to see Star Trek this weekend. And all the summer previews before it. Is that weird? This blog post is starting to reveal my nerdiness big time.

Hope you have a happy weekend!

Purple for Peace

My Threads: Sweater: J.Crew Factory, Shorts: Banana Republic Outlet, Sandals: TJ Maxx, Bag: street market in Florence, Necklace: JC Penny c/o RetailMeNot, Bracelet: Macy's, Watch: Michael Kors

I'll keep it short and sweet today! I'm rocking purple for peace. Because who doesn't like world peace? And because in the light of all these tragedies, it's important to unite against violence.

Happy Thursday!

I Want to Ride My Bicycle

My Threads: Tee: Gap (similar), Skirt: J.Crew Factory, Flats: Ivanka Trump via Marshalls (similar), Clutch: Coach (similar), Belt: Forever 21, Bracelets: J.Crew Factory, Francesca's, Watch: Michael Kors

It was 100 degrees here yesterday. I kid you not. So what did I want to do? Well nothing, really. It was kind of too hot to function. But warm weather (in general) is getting me super excited for summer! And I definitely want to spend summer sitting in the sand and riding bikes.

Since all my usual photo taking victims were out of town this weekend, I had my mom take a few pictures in my bicycle shirt on Sunday. Yes, Mother's Day. Mean, I know. But as soon as she saw I had bicycles on my shirt, she decided I should take pictures on a bike. And my sister's bike just so happened to match my outfit. Pretty darn convenient.

And just for the record, these are not the best bike riding shoes in the whole world. Pointy toes and pavement are not friends.

Happy Tuesday!

Minty Magic + A Giveaway

My Threads: Top: J.Crew Factory (tank version), Jeans: Target (similar), Flats: Ivanka Trump via Marshalls (similar), Bag: Kate Spade, Necklace: J.Crew Factory, Bracelets: Macy's, J.Crew Factory, Watch: Michael Kors

I've never been very good at just rocking black and white together, but I'm starting to love it a little more. You've probably noticed, but I'm a bit of a color addict. And a print addict. I still can't help throw in a little color, but I voluntarily paired white pants with a black shirt today! Which is progress. I think.

Anyway, let me tell you a sad story about this bag with a happy ending. And a helpful ending. I used it for the first time last weekend, and was crazy careful not to bump anything with it. Or spill anything on it. When Marc and I went into the movie theater to see Iron Man 3, the bag was totally clean.

Then we came out, and horror struck. The back had dark dirt smudges all over the front. Now, I don't stress over regular wear and tear on things, but this one had me pretty distressed. Mostly because I could not figure out for the life of me how the dirt got there.

When we got home, I looked up how to clean leather at home. I was about to resort to taking it in somewhere, and then I spotted it. The white magic eraser. A few minutes of strategic, gentle rubbing, and voila! Stains pretty much gone.

Moral of the story? Magic erasers really are magic! And I shouldn't own light colored bags.

And now it's time for a giveaway! The gorgeous shop, Boutique Sui Numeris, is generously giving away a $30 gift card that can be used toward anything on their site. Amazing, right? Get to entering!

Happy Friday!

Navy and Neon

My Threads: Sweater: Gap, Shorts: Target (similar), Flats: Old Navy, Clutch: H&M, Necklace: Express, Bracelet: J.Crew Factory, Watch: Michael Kors

So I totally have a thing for neutrals and neon lately. And then more neon on top of it. So I guess I really just have a thing for neon. Which I'm pretty sure I've always had, based on all the pictures of me in a neon pink hat as a kid.

Anyway. Life has been pretty busy lately, so I apologize that I haven't been responding to as many comments or visiting as many of your blogs! I seriously wish there was more time in the day. In addition to working full time and volunteering for a nonprofit, we are also apartment hunting and planning a vacation. Which is crazy time consuming. Hopefully things will calm down a little soon so I can get back to reading blogs more!

P.S. Can you believe it's already May?!? I'm kind of in shock.

Happy Hump Day!

I Really Heart

My Threads: Dress: GoJane, Jacket: H&M, Sandals: Target, Bag: Calvin Klein, Necklace: c/o Hearts, Bracelets: c/o Hearts, Watch: Michael Kors

I know I've talked about this before, but I'm a big fan of companies that give back. Whether they donate a portion of proceeds to a charity, use recycled materials, or are certified Fair Trade, they get me pretty excited.

So when Hearts contacted me about styling a couple of their items, I was ecstatic. Everything on the Hearts site has a socially conscious element. You can even shop by causes that you feel are most important. And the best part? Everything on their site is adorable. I'm serious. Every single thing. I have to admit, I spent a pretty long time perusing the site because I was so interested in reading the stories behind every item. Not to mention it's nearly impossible to choose a favorite item!

In case you were interested, this necklace is made from sustainable wood beads by artisans in Kenya who receive fair wages for their incredible beading talents. And the vintage bangles are made in the US from upcycled antique jewelry. Pretty amazing.

And in case Hearts was awesome enough already, they are generously offering A Devine Life readers a 30% discount code for regular priced purchases. Simply enter DEVINE30 when you check out, and you'll get an awesome deal on your favorite picks.

Hope you had a super fantastic weekend!
