Today, I spent 2 hours wandering around downtown LA with a camera in my hand. Mildly embarrassing considering I grew up 20 minutes from the city. The worst part? We kept finding ourselves in the same places as a giant tourist group complete with headphones, fanny packs and disposable cameras. Yikes.
I always thought downtown LA was just a bunch of boring office buildings, but there are some pretty cool landmarks there. Best part of the day? Placing my rear end on the same bench Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel sat on in "500 Days of Summer." I may or may not be slightly obsessed with that movie...
Anyway, here are a few photos we attempted to take discretely throughout the day.
Have you ever felt like a tourist in the city you're from?

I definitely have. When you live near tourist spots, you don't realize how cool they are; you take it for granted.
ReplyDeleteI love doing "stay-cations." It's when you take a vacation right in your own town and do all of the things that tourists pay hundreds of dollars to do for way cheaper (cuz you live there, duh)

ReplyDeleteAll. The. Time! I think it's because I am a tourist in my own city, for the time being. =) I love that you went to the 500 Days of Summer bench! So cool!
