A Not-So-Secret Garden

Hope you all had a great Easter! I have to say, I'm pretty bummed the weekend is over and it's already Monday. Marc and I went to my parents' house on Sunday, and leaving to face work in the morning was not pleasant.

Anyway, my Easter was pretty laid back this year! I ate too much candy (as usual) and too much ham (as usual) and wore pastels (as usual).

My dad took "Easter pictures" of me (sans sister since she was 8 hours away) in front of my mom's Wisteria plant after church (also as usual) and I didn't realize until I uploaded them how much I sort of just blend in. Not sure what I expected though wearing flowers in front of flowers...

A short spiel about my mom's crazy front yard garden: Last year (I think) she covered all the grass with cardboard to kill it, then put wood chips in. It looked pretty terrible for a while. And there were wood chips ALL OVER the driveway. Neighbors came and took wheelbarrows full of extra chips to their own houses for weeks. No joke. We live in California, so drought tolerant gardens have sort of become the ideal (and environmental) option here. The plants here don't actually need to be watered. And they still look pretty. And they have no cactus prickles. Win win win!

Anyway, just thought I'd give her some credit for her incredibly green thumb.

Oh and the middle picture was only included because my dog was mid-yawn and I thought it was cute. I realize I look silly.

Hope your week is off to a good start!
