On Saturday, Marc and I made a trip to the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific. I've always been really into marine life, and I'm always trying to convince people to go look at fish and penguins with me. Maybe it's from growing up in a beach town? If I wanted to get into a science field, I would probably be a marine biologist or something. I took marine biology in college, and it was by far the most interesting science class I have ever taken. But alas, I write instead.
Anyway, if you live in California or ever visit the LA area, you should go to this aquarium. It's a good one. In addition to the thousands of awesome fish we saw, we also watched a sea lion show and held lorikeets! Those are the birds on our arms above. One pooped on Marc's shoe though, ew.
My goal for this summer is to take advantage of living in Southern California. I tend to be a homebody sometimes which leads to a lot of lazy weekends. I don't have any big trips planned this summer (last year I backpacked around Europe), so I definitely will need to squeeze some culture and adventure in on the weekends. Off to a good start so far!
Anyone else have any fun summer plans or goals? Or suggestions?
