A Tad Plaid

My Threads: Shirt: H&M, Skirt: J.Crew Factory, Belt & Booties: Target, Bag: Florence street market, Necklace: ebay, Watch: Michael Kors

I'm starting to doubt the arrival of fall altogether this year. It's still in the 80s and 90s, which is weird even for Southern California this time of year. But I'm ready now, fall. Bring on the fog, rain, and crisp mornings. The Eiffel Tower sweater hanging in my closet may start a riot otherwise.

I've been talking about the weather a lot lately. For some reason, it seems necessary to explain why I still have bare legs. And never wear jackets. Can we just assume the insane heat is why? Then I don't have to feel like an old man confused by the lack of seasons.

I hope you all got to vote yesterday! I meant to remind people yesterday (when it was still relevant), but writing posts super late at night makes me forget things.

I voted by mail last week, so I didn't get a sticker. They should send you one to wear on the day of the election. I know I'm 25 and shouldn't care about stickers, but I still wanted one. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Hope you have a happy hump day!

  1. Man, I wish I could still be wearing outfits like that where I live! But we have frost every morning.
And I voted absentee, too, and am slightly saddened that I don't have a sticker to take a picture of like everyone else! :P

  2. Wow, your pictures are making me jealous. I am freezing over here on the East Coast! Send us your warmth and sunshine! I'm also jealous of the outfit you are wearing- at first glimpse, I thought you were at some tropical island, flaunting a vacay, but wow! You look great!

Stopping by from the link up! Happy Wednesday!

  3. Gorgeous outfit - I love this color combo! Also wish we still had your weather up here in Seattle, but now I know I can escape to Southern California for a weekend when I need some sun. =)

  4. Stopping by from WIWW, great color matching!

  5. Ha-ha I voted at my town and didnt get one. LOVE this outfit!! Wow is like summer there... and I look outside and I see snow. New England Problems. ha-ha

  6. I'm in Ohio and we're officially in baggy sweaters, leggings and boots. I would love to still be able to wear a skirt sans tights if possible! I love this outfit.

  7. Love the outfit! I was just in San Diego and visited that exact spot :)

  8. Super cute style! All of the teal accents tied together keep the look cohesive but is great for fall in a beach city! Down in Texas, the heat is still ridiculous and I look over other's blogs with longing as they snuggle down in slouchy sweaters and boots and scarves. *Sigh* They'll never know what it's like to get sunburned in December. :)

Ran across your blog via the Pleated Poppy and am your newest follower!

  9. Such a cute outfit!! Color me green though, because our weather is in the low 30s right now. So cold! I love the background in your pictures! :)

  10. Love the outfit! So pretty!
And I voted early on Monday and they didn't hand out stickers either. (boo) However, it definitely was worth it not to have to stand in line forever with a four year old in tow! ;)

  11. Haha, I always like getting the sticker too, and I'm almost 30 :) This is a gorgeous look, I love the colors together, and the casual plaid shirt and booties dressed up with the minty skirt and necklace!

  12. You look amazing!! LOVE THE NECKLACE! :)

  13. Love, love, love this happy fun outfit!! Also, love the glistening waters in the background. I love a madras plaid... this makes me long for summer again :)

  14. Beautiful outfit! I love that your necklace matches your skirt and the plaid top is the perfect compliment. Totally beautiful!

  15. Love the plaid, and those ankle boots are SO cute!

  16. This was my first time voting and I voted with a vote by mail ballot. I'm still so angry that I didn't get the sticker! I've always wanted an "I Voted" sticker. Part of my wishes I could have traveled 1700 miles back home just to vote at the polls and get the stickers. I have a feeling the need for the sticker will be a priority for me for most of my life.

By the way, this outfit is adorable! I love the colors. :)
