Happy Halloween!

My Threads: Shirt: H&M, Jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch, Jacket: Nordstrom Rack, Belt & Scarf: Target: Boots: a gift, Bracelets: Forever 21, Watch: Michael Kors

This is not what I'm wearing today. I'm either dressed as a nerd, a toddler, a Barbie, or some other character I made up based on what's in my closet. Since I usually write posts the night before, I have about a half an hour to decide.

I'm super last minute when it comes to Halloween. I just put it off until there's no time to actually buy or make anything. Not a good strategy. Plus, I really can't beat the peapod costume. It was all downhill after my second Halloween.

Anyway, the outfit I actually posted here isn't my favorite outfit ever. I wore it a couple weeks ago running errands and such, it's too hot here to even think about layers right now. But not every outfit can be a winner, right? I guess for some people, that's probably the case. Those are lucky people.

I hope you're eating lots of candy today! What are you dressed up as?

A Polka Dot Addiction

My Threads: Sweater: Abercrombie & Fitch, Skirt: H&M, Booties: Target, Clutch: H&M, Necklace: J.Crew Factory, Bracelets: Macy's, Watch: Fossil

It's possible that I might have a little bit of an obsession with polka dots. When I spot a lovely dot in the store, it's like tunnel vision. Unless of course I walk past something that's hot pink. Then I'm torn whether to reach for the pink or the dots first.

Obviously, I grabbed for this skirt and clutch at the same time. Because I have really long, flexible arms.

On another note, does anyone have any genius last minute costume ideas? I have to dress up for work. I'm kind of leaning toward just throwing on my footy pajamas and pigtails and saying I'm 5. Really, it would just be an excuse to wear pajamas to work and act like a little kid.

Last year, I was a pillow fight...I'm sensing a cozy theme here.

What are you dressing up as tomorrow?

A Weekend in Las Vegas

Last Friday, Marc and I flew to Las Vegas to meet his family there for a wedding. I was planning on taking my good camera, but it's huge and I only had a small carry on. So sadly, it couldn't come. And I couldn't do any outfit pictures. But here are a few we took with my little point and shoot!

Overall all, it was a great weekend. The wedding was beautiful, the weather was nice, and it was good to get a way for a couple days.

Plus, pre-Halloween weekend makes for some hilarious people watching. We saw pretty much every costume you could imagine walking the strip Saturday night. Except for a slutty Orc. I'm still waiting for someone to take it there.

Also, I think I only lost $1. Success, right?

I hope you had a fabulous weekend!

P.S. My water bottle is my favorite/most used real life accessory. Unfortunately, it doesn't look that amazing with most of my outfits. Or any of them.

That Dress I Couldn't Breathe In

My Threads: Dress: H&M, Booties: Target, Clutch: Forever 21, Bracelets: Macy's, Watch: Fossil

I bought this dress in a hurry thinking it might work well for the wedding I'm going to in Las Vegas this  weekend. Even if I decided not to wear it to the wedding, I figured it would be a good holiday party dress or something.

When I tried it on, it felt a little snug, but I probably had it on for less than a minute. When I got home, I tried it on to show Marc, and it felt way tighter than it had felt in the fitting room. And I don't think it was just because of the burrito bowl I scarfed down. The dress kind of felt like I was wearing a corset. So obviously, I couldn't wear it to a wedding with dinner and dancing. I like my rib cage where it is, thanks. And I like to have air in my lungs.

This dress probably wasn't really right for the wedding anyway. So I borrowed a dress from a friend, returned this one so someone with smaller lungs can purchase it, and I called it a day.

This is the second time in the last couple weeks that I've bought something I tried on and returned it because it didn't fit right. What's up with fitting rooms? Do they make you shrink or expand so you'll buy more clothes? Maybe I just get excited, and important things like breathing or pants falling down just don't seem relevant. Until they are.

Do you ever buy clothes that don't fit right on accident?

Happy Thursday!

Denim and Dots

My Threads: Shirt: GoJane, Sweater: Old Navy, Jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch, Clutch: H&M,
Pumps: BCBG, Necklace: Forever 21, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Macy's, Forever 21, a local fair

I think this chambray shirt is starting to meld with my skin. I'm a little afraid I might put it on one day and find that it won't come off anymore.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited to finally wear my hot pink Barbie shoes. I didn't steal them from a seven-year-old's closet, don't worry. I actually found them on the clearance rack during Macy's crazy shoe sale a couple months ago. When I price checked them, they were $15. Originally $90. I may have squealed out loud a little while standing alone amid the racks.

I think this is going to be my outfit formula for the cooler weather. Button-up plus a sweater plus jeans. It's super comfy, and collars always make things look more put-together, right? Right.

What's your fall formula?

Have a happy hump day!

A Little Fall Weather

My Threads: Sweater and Leggings: H&M, Boots: a gift, Scarf: a local boutique, Clutch: Forever 21, Watch: Michael Kors

Last weekend, it rained! And I was excited to get cozy. Of course, it's heating up again, but I guess I'll take whatever fall days I can get.

So I have now worn this sweater two times, and have spilled on it three times. Impressive, right? I'm not even sure when one of the spills happened. I only found it after taking the sweater off. As you can imagine, Tide pens are kind of my best friends. I'm not sure what it is about me and spilling, but I'm definitely pretty good at it. Too bad they don't give out awards for stains.

I'm also really good at putting holes in things. I broke these boots the same day I spilled on this sweater. It was a pretty successful day.

I hope you're having a stain free Tuesday!

P.S. Does anyone know of anything fun/cheap to do in Las Vegas? During the day, particularly. I'm going to be there for a wedding this weekend, but I don't have a clue what to do during the day. Other than shop, obviously (which I'm sure the boyfriend won't be too thrilled about). Thanks!

Mixing Neutral Prints

My Threads: Top and Skirt: H&M, Booties: Target, Clutch: Forever 21, Necklace: J.Crew Factory, Bracelets: Forever 21, local craft fair

I can't seem to stop wearing stripes and polka dots together. Fortunately, I own multiple striped and polka dotted things so I don't keep ending up in the exact same outfit.

And I'd like to apologize in advance for how much you'll see this shirt this fall. And winter and spring probably. It kind of just goes with everything.

I'm basically asleep right now, so I'll keep this post short.

Hope you had an amazing weekend!

Matchy Matchy

My Threads: Top & Skirt: H&M, Pumps: Target, Necklace: J.Crew (birthday gift), Ring: GoJane, Watch: Michael Kors

So I really love the garages in our parking complex. They're super architecturally interesting, and they make for absolutely amazing outfit backgrounds. Okay, that's not true at all. I actually hate them, they're really ugly. But it gets dark so early now, and Marc hasn't been able to take picture until after 5pm lately. And unfortunately, this is always the lightest spot.

I promise to have more interesting backgrounds next week. I'm sick of garages. They're really only good for one thing, and that isn't taking pictures.

Anyway, this pink and beige outfit is pretty matchy matchy. But I like it. There's something about the neutral and bright combination that's just perfect. Plus, I have bows on my skirt and a bow ring on. Just to add to the matchy matchy-ness.

I'd like to talk about this hair tie situation for a second. I always wear one, I have since elementary school. Not because I think it's trendy, not because it means anything to me, just because I have a lot of hair and it gets in the way while I'm eating. And concentrating. It's certainly not a fashion statement, and I always smack myself when I'm going through pictures and see it sitting there, in all it's stretchy glory. So I'm sorry, please just pretend it isn't there.

Hope you have a happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here, phew!

A Little Yellow

My Threads: Shirt: GoJane (work), Skirt: Francesca's, Wedges: Steve Madden via Macy's, Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction via Ross, Belt & Bracelet: Forever 21

It's highly possible that I have a slight addiction to chambray shirts. I probably wear this shirt at least once a week, probably more. I can't help it though! Chambray is like the solution to every problem. Okay, maybe not every problem, but at least closet problems.

I've been attempting to catch up on some blog reading this week, and I have to say, I'm pretty jealous of everyone who actually has fall backgrounds. Leaves just don't fall much here. Or turn colors. Only the occasional tree decides to participate in fall. Sadly, this makes for minimal leaf jumping. And for non season photos.

Maybe I should just buy some pumpkins and carry them around with me everywhere. Then I could have fall pictures whenever.

Happy hump day! Can you believe it's already the middle of October?!
